safari stalls

Has anyone figured out why Safaris stalls - the blue line across the top gets to a bit past half way and it freezes up. Happens most on yahoo.com and wunderground.com, but it doesn't happen on chrome. I have done all the diagnostic tests, signed in as guest, etc., and it still happens. Before I just switch to chrome I thought I'd give this a shot.

Same problems in multiple user accounts, can be an indication that the startup disk may need repairing.

Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities.

Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.

Click: Verify Disk. If repairs are necessary, since your Mac is running v10.8, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys so you can access OS X Recovery.

Read before proceeding > OS X Recovery
