My Mac (10.7.5) Keeps forgetting startup items.

There doesn't seem to be a OSX Lion categorie, so...

I need a lot of apps to open when I start my computer. I know how to do this but sometimes it resets and there are no items in the startup items.

Also accompanied with this is my User account picture is reset at the same time.

I don't care for my account picture but the Startup items is too tedious and annoying to fix every time this happens.

It also happens randomly. It happened this morning, but might happen again tomorrow, or in a month.

Any ideas for the issue/fixes?

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist

Click Go then move the com.apple.loginitems.plist file to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.
