iTunes wont play Safari videos?

From the developer.apple.com/videos/ I choose 'safari videos' and am then connected to iTunes but when I choose Session 201 I get the following back:

"This movie requires Quicktime, which is not supported but this version of iTunes"

Im running an iMac 7,1 4 GB RAM and updated iTunes. Could it be a Permissions issue maybe?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thanks for the reply griff,

From Go I went into Applications and changed the selection to 32 bit and tried the videos. I got this back from the download progress window found by clicking the icon at the top right of iTunes:

stopped(err=3259)

I restarted the computer and tried it again with the same result.
