Sync new mac with iTunes on external hard drive

I bought a macbook Air, and want to sync it with my itunes library that is currently on my macbook pro. Before I do that though, I want to move my itunes library to my Time Capsule.

My first attempt I just copied my iTunes library from MBP to my Time Capsule. Then I opened itunes on my Air while holding down the option key. It sort of worked in that I was able to play my music. The only problem was after I quit iTunes I would get this message...

After I selected the itunes folder on my Time Capsule it worked fine. Not ideal.

My 2nd attempt I tried to move my Library to my TC by these instructions...http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

When I try to open itunes on my Air I get the following message.

Is there any way to get this to work?
