Finder Menu disappeared

I do not know what caused it, but suddenly I had no Finder menu anymore (the one with the Apple-icon, Finder, Edt, etc.)

I tried everything (even of course, shutting down, waiting and rebooting) but it doesn't come back.

Can anybody help me? (I'm working under Mac OS X 10.6.8… as far as I remember)
