Q: I've tried 5 times over the past 1/2 day to update my AirPort Extreme (6.3.1), but ever time the Firmware is being downloaded it ends in the message: An error occurred while downloading the firmware. What should I do?
I've tried 5 times over the past 1/2 day to update my AirPort Extreme (6.3.1), but ever time the Firmware is being downloaded it ends in the message: An error occurred while downloading the firmware. What should I do?
MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

I am assuming that you have your AirPort Extreme connected to your modem with an Ethernet cable.
Try connecting your MacBook Pro to one of the LAN <-> ports using another spare Ethernet cable.
Restart the modem, AirPort Extreme and MacBook, then try the update again.
Report on your results.
