Require password immediately turns itself on
Whenever I shut down my Macbook Pro then turn it back on later the 'Require password immediately after sleep or screensaver begins' turns itself on.

This sounds like a corrupt preferences file problem. To fix:
- hold down the option key
- in the Go menu in the Finder, scroll down to Library
- in Library, find Preferences
- in Preferences, find these two files and drag them to the trash:
- com.apple.screensaver.plist
- com.apple.systempreferences.plist
- restart
- this will generate new .plist files so you will have to enter your preferences again but I bet the problem will be fixed.
