Q: my computer turns on and login screen appears.  once i log on i see the default background but no icons and the finder wont start

Hi,

When i turn on my mac everything is normal.  i get a message about start up disc being full and I click ok and it goes away.  I log onto my account as normal however once i login nothing appears.  The default background is up however none of my icons, dock, or finder appear.  A message appears about instaling Belkin (wireless i believe) however nothing else.  When i alt-command-esc nothing appears in the foce quit applications menue.  HELP!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2), May not be exact operating system

Try booting with the shift key.  Then tell us your Mac OS X version in Apple menu -> About This Mac.  It may be your Belkin wireless is not compatible with your Mac OS X version.  If you tell us the EMC# on the base of your iMac, we can also have a better idea what may be installed.
