Apple Mail High Data Usage! 100GB in a Day...

Hi all,

Running Mountain Lion with the latest versions of patches and recentlly Mac Mail started going crazy.

About two weeks ago, Mac Mail downloaded over 100GB of data.

Last night, it did 51GB of data.

I usually leave Mac Mail open 24x7, and most of the time it seems to be fine, but occassional it goes crazy and data usage goes through the roof.

Is anyway famliar with this problem?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

This has nothing to do with the user folder ... Apple Mail is downloading over 100GB of data overnight. I don't even know what it's downloading as I have my accounts setup as IMAP and I surely don't even have more than 1 GB of stored mail...

The data is not stored to my computer, but rather, Apple Mail seemed to be stuck in some sort of loop downloading garbage data.

The app still responds as expected but is gobbling up 500KB/s - 1MB/s of data!

Luckily I'm not on some sort of metered connection or this could have bankrupted me...
