Feb 22, 2014 3:00 PM in response to flyboy621by PAHU,Some printers don't use the Layout menu as they have their own vendor provided menu. So have a look at the other menus available; you may see something like Finishing or Duplex that will let you switch from duplex to simplex.

Jun 10, 2014 10:10 AM in response to mcdonsco12345by gruuvebot,@PAHU's fix worked for me. Two Canon Image Runner 5200 color printers connected over Ethernet, now printing single sided by default after following the instructions from @PAHU. Super simple, nice fix.
Thanks again!

Aug 6, 2014 12:25 PM in response to mcdonsco12345by wahinef,I have figured this out for ppt on mac. There are a few options...
Option 1
See the print details screen below. Select the drop down of "copies & pages" and choose layout
In the layout details screen, see the option for "two sided printing" and select off
Then go back up to the drop down that says Layout and go back and choose "copies and pages"
Then print from that screen.
It should work.
You can also check that the default settings have it turned off in the Layout tab
Option 2: Reset the printers by deleting them all and re-adding

Sep 16, 2014 8:13 PM in response to Sachinoby laurendc2,This worked perfectly thank you so much! i could not find out what the problem was and everyone else's answer was far more complex than what the real solution is. All you need to do is go back to the default settings and everything is back to normal (:

Feb 24, 2015 1:06 PM in response to PAHUby mccoysuper, for some reason this does not work for me. i know other people say it worked. but i had the message saying successfully done but when i printed, still comes out 2-sided. ?:(

Feb 24, 2015 4:02 PM in response to mccoysuperby PAHU,The action via CUPS changes the driver default. So you can view the result by opening a document to print and with the driver selected, check the respective menu used by the driver for two sided and single sided printing. If it is still set to two sided, then your changes via the CUPS web interface did not work for this driver.
