Q: Airport Time Capsule

I purchased an Apple Airport Time Capsule on July 19, 2013.  It works great, but ever since I installed it, my satellite internet usage has increased.  My habits are the same.  I am not sure why this is happening.  Can anyone answer this?

Airport Time Capsule, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Your new Time Capsule should not be sending / receiving additional data to the Internet by itself sans the Time Service (if enabled). (Note: The Time Service option doesn't appear to be controllable with the newer v6.x of the AirPort Utility.) Regardless this would cause very little traffic when enabled.

I would recommend that you use a utility like Private Eye or Little Snitch to try to determine the source of the additional traffic.
