Constant swooshing and dinging when on Facetime

As soon as my Facetime Call was answered I got constant swooshing (outgoing and incoming mail sounds) and a Dinging sound. It wouldn't stop.

I have 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Intel on my desktop iMac. Can you help?

I had this happen and it turned out to be another application running in the background that was causing the problem. Try quitting other applications one at a time the next time this happens.
