Song purchased using old Apple ID now won't play

I purchased a rights-protected song years ago that is now stuck in the iTunes authorization jail. I must not have tried to play it for some time, but now I need to. The Apple ID it's prompting for a password is old, and I don't even know whether it was mine or my husbands. How do I access the song??
