Q: i recently download itunes to a second laptop and the vast majority of my library will not play because the "original file cannot be located"  what is with this?  the tutorial is of no help and neither is the troubleshooting section

I rceently downloaded itunes to a second laptop and the entire library appears but the vast vast majority of my library will not play because "the original file cannot be located" whenever I select a tune to play.  Tutorials and troubleshooting are of absolutely no help.  How can I rectify this?

    Hello, Nittany78.

I see iTunes is indicating and alert that your media can not be found.  This can happen if iTunes is not directed to where your media is located.  Here is the best resource for issues regarding lost media in iTunes.

i dont see how this can happen to over 1000 tunes    my nephew said that it is because i need to subscribe to itunes match    not crazy about the thought of paying to have access to tunes that i added to my library from my cd library   something just fundamentally wrong about that    the original computer does not have this issue so, i will simply delete from the computer that is having the issue and use the computer that is fine and avoid upgrades to itunes
