NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or ATI Radeon HD 5770?

Don't pay money for an 8800 today, regardless of the fan.

The 8800 gets so hot its solder gets damaged. There are recipes online for how to bake it in your home oven to restore function.

Remember those cards need to have Apple-EFI-Firmware to show a picture under Mac OS X. PC cards do not.

I refer HD5770 rather than 8800GT It's a little "noisy" if you compared with GT120.

Waste to buy 8800, less power not as well built, does not compare in performance, the 8800GT is single slot tiny fan that to me having used both now the 8800 would kick in during startup .... but noisse is not an issue and no noise would be (no cooling).

I paid more for the 8800 $279 which were EOL back in end 2007 / early 2008. And they have poorly done solder joints.

I do not hear the 5770, and my system is quiet with 3 x SSDs, a 1.5TB green drive
