Alternative to iPhoto?

I'm really not liking the way iPhoto organizes photos. Is there an alternative program anyone can recommend? Thanks!

iview is cool cause you can try out iView Media v2.7
and then buy it and if you like it and need more
they let you upgrade for a fee to
iView Media Pro!
I use it for all my photos on my usb EX hard drives.

That link talks about ACDsee the windows v. is
fantastic for mac it does not do to much agin
i think you can try it first.

Adobe has a new program called light room that free
because it is beta v3 i have ben using it since v1
with no problem but i put a folder of photos
in the documents and use lightroom from there.
use the link and view the 2 video tutorial2

good luck!

Yes. Actually iPhoto will recognize the edit when it goes to use the original in a book or calendar but the thumbnail will not be updated. If you're going to experiment with iView and use it's editing features you're best bet is to copy a few folders out of the Originals folder and use them. If you haven't seen them, there are some Tutorials describing how to convert over to an iView system, use iView and iPHoto on the same set of source files and use iView to sync keywords back to the original files in case you would like to convert to a different system and keep the keywords.
