I deleted some iTunes matched songs from computer. How to make them play from iCloud?

I added some songs to my iTunes library, iTunes matched them and they became available from iCloud on my iPhone. I then deleted those songs from my computer to save disk space.

Now iTunes on computer says it cannot find source files for these songs and offers to search for them, but doesn't offer to play them from iCloud. How do I tell iTunes that it should get the songs from cloud, not from my disk?

Hi Arp_!

It sounds like you may have deleted the source files for those songs from your computer, but maybe you haven't deleted them from the iTunes library. In order to have the ability to access these files from iTunes Match, they would need to be deleted from the library file, which can be done by following the instructions in the article below:

iTunes Store: How to delete songs from iCloud

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4915

Note: these instuctions are for deleting a song from iCloud, and iTunes Match. Make sure the check box that says "Also delete from iCloud" is UNCHECKED in order to keep these items in your iTunes Match database!!

Once that is completed, the items will be available to download again or stream from iTunes Match. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!
