Q: airplay icons on all devices disappears when NAS is switched on

I have a Bufallo NAS which keeps my iTunes library. In my network everything is fine and I have multiple airplay devices as well as iPad etc. When I switch on my NAS the airplay icons disappears from all iPads and iPhones, also from an PC which runs ITunes. After switching off the NAS or disconnecting the NAS from the network the Airplay icons re- appear at once. I can repeat this game a hundred times. The NAS is workng perfectly and I can connect to the network shares without problems.

Any useful hints, why this NAS is disturbing the Airplay traffic?

The NAS is not running any special service, no DLNA server,no ITunes server. It's a Samba based File services which uses up on Windows PCs. All iPads, iPhones are in the actual software level.

Thans for helping before getting crazy.

iOS 6.1, Airplay

One additional topic which might help (or not)

The disappearing of Airplay Icons works also the other way round.

When I am using iTunes on a PC and no iPhone, iPad, etc are connected to the WLAN then I can see and play music via my AirPlay devices from iTunes/PC with the NAS having the iTunes library.

When I switch on any iPhone/iPad/etc. the Airplay symbols drop from my iTunes/PC immediately. After I disconnect the iPhones/iPads I have to disconnect every AirPlay device from power, connect it again and switch it on again. After some seconds the AirPlay symbol and AirPlay devices re-appear on the iTunes/PC again.

Strange. The Home Network is running without any disturbances.

Seems to be some kind of cold war between the PC/NAS and the Apple iPhone/iPad world. The one is kicking out the other.
