Win 7 does not recognize external display (TB / displayport)

Like many other people, I have trouble getting my display (Dell U2413) to work properly via TB / displayport with my win 7 installation. However, unlike most people, I am not using any adaptors at all, just a straight mini displayport -> displayport cable. I have been searching for a solution online, but all the suggestions I have seen so far have been useless. Win 7 does not recognize the display at all.

I am running the latest bootcamp and display drivers (5 and 320.49 respectively) on a baseline 2012 rMBP. I should add that the display does work via HDMI, but I can't really be assed with the additional cable and would prefer if it simply worked as intended with displayport..

Any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have already read those pages, and basically they just say that TB devices are detected during the initial computer startup, so that having the display connected during startup would solve the problem. But it does not..

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I'm trying to do the same with an LG 27ea83. Doesn't work.

Unfortunately, no, I never found a solution to the problem. The only workaround for me was using an HDMI cable :/

Same problem for me. Philips 272P4 not recognized when connected using mini DP -> DP cable. Using HDMI adapter, it works, but monitor is recognized as TV on Win8. So I only have TV resolutions available. When booting to OSX, HDMI works properly and offer the full resolution of monitor.
