My ipod nano 7th gen has suddenly gone black and it wont turn on or connect to a power source.

I was listening to my ipod nano 7th gen when it went black and the music stopped playing. It wont turn on when i press the power button and when i connect it up to charge the screen doesn't turn on. Can anyone tell me how to turn it on again or give me suggestions.
