I took the hard drive out of an old Mac 6116 that was in a house fire. I don't think the hard drive suffered smoke or water damage so I want to mount it in an external USB enclosure and look at the contents on a Windows 7 laptop.
Is there a program that I need on the PC to do this?

I heard about something called HFSExplorer as a read only program and it's free from what I understand.
There should be no reason to write to this HDD however I may want to pull some photo's and maybe some txt files.
I'm guessing that the trial version of MacDrive might limit use in the trial version; otherwise what would be the benefits?

The drive in our 61XX PowerMac is a 50-pin SCSI, as are the others in this series I've worked on. Did you find a drive enclosure that accepts SCSI drives?
I'd love to know where as that is a fairly common inquiry that comes up here. To date I've not seen an answer.
