Can I connect RCA cables to my new 13" macbook pro?
I want to digitize some records, am told that usb from a turntable can give poor results.
Thanks.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

They will have to be connected via a USB port. There is no other way to channel sound into a new 13" MBP.
Ciao.

Best if you explain what you are trying to do before recommendations are made.
However if the turntable has USB out that would be the best way to go.

I believe the audio 'out' an also be used as input.
Frank Caggiano, greetings; Only on 13' MBPs before 2012 models.
Ciao.
OGELTHORPE seems you're right. Looks like Apple did remove that feature from the OS. Oh well another one bites the dust.
To the OP you'll get better results going in through USB anyway. So does the turntable have USB out? It's not clear from your first post.
If not look at something like iMic - USB Audio Interface - Griffin Technology good basic function.
For doing that actual recording I like Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder, works well and you can't beat the price.
