Macbook Pro to LG TV

Every time I connect my Macbook Pro to my LG 42LH3000 my Macbook display will show on my tv for a few seconds or sometimes minutes then flicker blue and go off.

I've tried playing with the settings but everytime the screen turns blue all of the settings reset and nothing will show on my TV any more.

I've also tried different HDMI cables but that makes no difference.

I have followed all the other threads on here that I can find but nothing works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Hi T,

Are you also using an adapter to get to HDMI? If so, that would seem to be suspect and I'd try another one.

I had the same issue using a cheap adaptor i bought online, it wasn't working very well, so i ran out to the Apple Store and bought one from there. Everything is working fine now. It could be your cable tough.

Thanks for that. I was originally using a cheap adaptor and someone suggested a more expensive one. Now I have one from the Apple Store and still no luck 😟

Try it with another TV or display. This will help figure out if the problem is with your TV or with your MacBook Pro.

If the problem still exists with a different external display then you should contact Apple if your MBP is still in warranty or on AppleCare.

Exactly what adapter are you using? And cable? What port are you connecting to on your TV? Be specific, please.
