Q: iPhoto quits unexpectantly

I downloaded pictures from my SLR and iphone camera onto iPhoto and ever since, the program no longer works. I have several pictures that are blank with a ? mark on it. How do I fix this?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

These are your options:
1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
2. Repair or rebuild the library.
3. Scavenge the library with iPhoto Library Manager independently of iPhoto (Library ▹ Rebuild). Books, calendars, and slideshows won't be preserved.
