can MacBook Air_____?

I was thinking of getting a 13" MacBook Air and had a few questions about it. I am currently a user of the iPad and love it and wanted to get something to replace my old PC.

1. can I watch Netflix, youtube and other things on the Mac Air much like I do on the pad? Are there apps for it or can they be viewed in the Safari browser?

2. Does the Mac have an App store much like the App store for the iPad with both free and pay for apps?

3. I was looking for something much like the iPad for home use that would allow me to watch Netflix, Youtube, surf the web, etc...but on a bigger screen with a keyboard. Is this the right fit for me or not?

Thanks, sorry for the newbie questions...just trying to figure it all out...

1. absolutely

2. again, yes. An identical APP store except APPS for OSX instead of mobile apps (ipad/ iphone)

3. Yes again.

#4 (you didnt ask), ......the macbook Air can multitask many high end professional applications,...and all at once no less. 😉

A base model 128gig I5 13" seems to fit what youre looking for.

Dont let the thin size of the Macbook Air fool you, its a very powerful laptop.

I think you might have thought the Macbook Air as some kind of netbook (used for web surfing and very superficial things)....The Air is no netbook, nothing even close to it,.... like comparing a push cart to a racing car. 😊

If you didnt want to purcahse MS Office, there is a free version countless people use (I use both) called Open Office.

There are countless "Excell like" programs.

The new 13" I5 air has incredible battery life, and is a genuine powerhouse.

I rightly forward that countless 1000s of people look at the Air for 5 seconds and its very slim lightweight profile....and pass on buying one thinking its "probably like a netbook" ...or "couldn't be a powerful tool"

nothing could be further from the truth however. 😉

As far as "home enjoyment" on the AIr, ...you can watch high def video, be downloading multiples files, and processing a video conversion all at once.

The Air and its light weight is perfect after doing work on it,... for use as a pure entertainment device for streaming movies.

The 8 second boot time and SSD drive and only one moving part (the fan) make it perfect for travel as well a quick check in the morning of email, etc, since startup is so quick and handy to grab in the bed upon waking up.
