Macbook pro retina 15 inch constantly at 68*C even with just web browsing and no media.

I have a macbook pro retina 15 inch (mid 2012), 2.6ghz, 8gb RAM, that I bought from jnr electronics about 1 month ago in July 2013.

It seems that when I just web browse and use google chat, my macbook burns extra hot along the keyboards and above the numbers keys.

I ran Temperature monitor and found the following:

I read that there are two different types of retina screens that apple uses an LG and SAMSUNG and this may be the difference as to why my macbook pro retina burns hot.

Is it normal for it to get so hot doing such light tasks?

Thank you so much for your time and help.

It's very strange that a display could have an impact on temperatures.

To see if there's a process taking CPU, open Activity Monitor (in /Applications/Utilities), choose "All Processes" above "Show" in the toolbar and look for posts with a high CPU load. If you find one with a especially high CPU load, copy its name here. That's the reason why your Mac is at 68ºC.

If not, I would not worry. If you see temperatures higher than 80 or 90ºC, reply back, but fans will turn on automatically with a much higher speed to reduce the temperature

Those are almost drastically low temps (unless, perhaps, they were taken right after the computer was turned on). My CPU Die usually runs between 60-65ºC, with my fans keeping up as the temps increase.

I don't know that one screen (LG or Samsung) would run 'cooler' than the other... but you've nothing to worry about concerning your temps.
