My new iphone 5 cannot use wi-fi at my house. It will not connect through my old airport express. Must i just replace the express with a newer device? I am totally new to use of the iphone.

Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing. However, the issue could be a little more complex. Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology. Below, I have included two articles. Also, I see you have an AirPort Express. Make sure to check for updates to the firmware.

Apple stopped giving support for the older Airport Express, but there is this web where you can find a workaround to be able to setup your older airport using the 5.6 version of the airport utility. Worked for me. Look for Corey J Mahler page, and a post of May. I obviously can't put the link here.
