Links between Portrait and Landscape orientations
I's attempting to create a book with both orientations and I notice that the links I placed for a website and for contact (email) work on Portrait but not in Landscape :S
How can I fix this?

How are you proofing them?
Which template?

I use the preview option with my iPad connected
Which template?
I'm using "Fundamentals of Algebra" (one of the defult templates fo the program) as a base (mainly changing colors and typeface nothing too crazy)
A Preview is just a simple PDF version of what your book should do in terms of functionality. Don't rely on them for anything but a helicopter view of your work as intended.
Instead, use IBA's Share/Export menu, save as an .ibooks file, drag to iTunes, then sync to your target iPad. Be sure to delete old versions of any type first.
I tried saving the book then drag it to iTunes as you suggested, but it didnt work.
What else can I try?
🙂
I don't know what 'it' is in this context sorry. Please don't make us guess.
Sorry. What I meant to say its that the links I placed for a website and for contact (email) work on Portrait but not in Landscape.
I've tried saving the file as an iBook then drag it to iTunes as you suggested (since I was only checking the book progress on "preview") , but the links are still funtioning only on the portrait format.
(I'm trying to create a book with both orientations in the v2.0 of iBooks Author).
My quiestion is: What else can I do to allow my links to work properly in both orientations?
Are you adding them while editing content while in Landscape or while in Portrait?
I'm adding the links while in landscape format
what I do is select text/ then in the Inspector-Link palette I press "enable as hyperlink".
That's not the process to add an external link.
The process you're talking about is to add a bookmark/hyperlink that is used within the book.
ahhh
Ok. How do I place an external link?
Sorry, that process should work, but only if you enable them as either a webpage or email
Just type them as text onto a page and iBA will translate and enable them as links to a webpage or email for you.
If I add a url to a page while editing in either landscape or portrait, it works in both landscape and portrait.
Hi there! I found the problem!
( Original post: "I's attempting to create a book with both orientations and I notice that the links I placed for a website and for contact (email) work on Portrait but not in Landscape" )
You know that, in the horizontal format, some section pages have 2 columns of text. Right. Well, on my case the column in which I had my link was on top of the second column (see reference image below). Once I deleted one of the columns the link work perfectly in both orientations 😀
Thanks for troubleshooting this issue with me. It's greatly appreacited 🙂
