Mail application is frozen

and won't open and load. I have to keep doing a Force Quit. It would be nice if it could work again. Never had this issue in the 7 months I've had my Macbook...but today it keeps freezing, even after quitting and restarting the laptop several times. Nothing else changed on the machine. Please help. Thanks!
