Time Machine would do it if enabled. Restore the entire iTunes folder to a time prior to your mistake.

OK, so I still have the song titles with playing time, but now they all fall under the list of the album I had intended to change.
I think I'm better off deleting all of my library rather than go thru each song and re-listing the artist and which album it originally belonged!
Silly me, this is what I get for not using it yet and I have a new Apple back-up hard drive still in the box! Ugh
Thanks any way turningtest 2
Reimporting the media into a new library won't help. The tags have already been changed. You'd need to rerip or redownload.
Do you have the media on another device? My user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device could help there.
For Windows users I have a script that can be used with an older copy of the media database to export the properties of the tracks as they used to be, then reimport those properties into the current library. As yet I haven't got to the point where I know enough to port it to AppleScript but it would probably be possible.
