I have done this update at least 10-15 times and does not seem to update correctly.
When i click update the blue download status bar appears and fills instantly and then the restart happens and i log in and it brings up the app store and the update is still there??
anyone else having this issue?

Sometimes the App Store version doesn't work properly. In this case, install OS X 10.8.4 using the Combo installer instead of installing it from the App Store > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1659
Open this file, run the installer and follow the steps to update to OS X 10.8.4. The Combo version is the safest way to update OS X to the latest version, as it works better than the Delta installer (it has got less problems). Also, you can update more than one Mac with a single download
