Ipad mini can search internet but can't open websites

I have had my ipad mini for a week. Initially it was able to connect to our home network without any problem. A few days ago it stopped opening webpages, getting recent information from facebook or opening apps that require Internet connection (such as downloading new apps, etc) however, I can still search for things in google--I just can't open any pages that come up.

I have tried unplugging and turning off my modem, reconnecting to the network, resetting network settings, renewing lease, forgetting network and turning ipad off and on.

Can anyone help me? Any suggestions welcome.

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Reboot the iPad.


Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Try this next. Close all apps and reboot the iPad.


Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.

If that doesn't work, Try this. You will have to enter all of your device preferences again and that will take some time, but is not as painful as restoring the iPad and starting all over again.


You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

It is set to "From Visited".


After many times of restarting the router/modem, I discovered that if I let my Ipad connect to the internet before my computer the ipad has full internet connection. The computer, however, had the same limited internet connection that the ipad had been struggling with. I called my internet provider and it was determined that I needed a new router/modem. Hopefully this will fix the internet issue.
