Macbook Air

I have recently been informed that the macbook air is the better macbook to get. My next question is if i should get the 11 or 13 inch and which year model i should get as a college student ( using the machine for browsing, creating files and doing projects)

I would appreciate an answer.

Better is subjective to use and intent.

The 13" base model is only 100$ more than the 11", and also has the 12hr. batt life in I5 configuration, that being said with larger screen and much longer battery life, you might consider the 13"

Having both the macbook Pro and Macbook Air, I use the Air almost exclusively. the Air has a SSD with extremely fast boot time, and is a powerful platform nearly the same as a base model macbook Pro but weighs a great deal less.

The new AIr is the only Mac that has Haswell processor, extremely long batt. life and 802ac next gen. wifi.

As to the 11" vs. 13", that is subjective, ....Ive owned both 11" and 13" Air, .... certainly prefer the 13", however you may differ on this.

However as stated above the 13" is very little more in cost, but has a LOT longer battery life than the 11" Air.

Remember the RAM is not upgradable, for a minor price increase, consider getting the 8gig of Ram vs. the 4gig base model. That being said however the 4gig of Ram is plenty enough for most everything in general use.

Right, and the "patch" was installed on all 3 of machines(and lots of other peoples) and changed nothing. Just because you are one of the lucky ones with working machines does not help any of us affected with malfunctioning ones. If this such a sporadic issue why does this post show over 140,000 views?. LOts of folks affected and no fix yet. Lots of people with the problem are not posting on forums but are silently suffering waiting for a fix that has not happened yet. Google the issue. Its out there on other tech forums and poste as articles for over 2 months since the mid 2013 release.....no fix yet, as people with the problem can attest.

I wont be using it for games. Only browsing the web, creating files and doing projects. So i would think the 11 inch would be the best choice for my personal needs.

I have never owned a Mac before and have started to really enjoy Apple products. I share a PC with my family and would really like my own computer and I would like a Mac. Price is an issue as I wll be buying this with my own money and do not work for an income.
