This isn't working for me and I think it's because I installed IOS 7 and it has the new secure-r find-my-phone app. It won't let me delete my icloud account unless I enter the password for the apple ID I no longer have!

    Hi,

I previously changed my apple id on my old phone because of an e-mail address that is no longer active. That worked well. I bought a new i-phone installed it and made a back from my old phone. My apple ID for i-tunes also changed and it all went well. But now my new I phone 5 keeps asking me to sign in with my old apple id which i ' have the password for, so I signed in and asked them to send me a new password, but it seems because i changed the apple id apple ' recognize the account and is not sending me an e-mail.

The phone is working well and i like it, but i just cant seem to be able to change the apple id that belongs to i-cloud etc for the phone.

Can anybody help in how I can get my new i-phone to ask me to log in with my new apple id? Or how to change the settings i.cloud to ask me to log in with the new apple id?

    Thank you in advance

Settings > iCloud > scroll down and tap Delete Account

Sign in again using the new Apple ID.

    Thanks for your help, but

    1)  I can't delete the account because you need to sign into the account (with my previous apple id I no longer have and apple apparently doesn't have because they are not sending me a password to my e-mail address a to be able to login to the old account.

    2) I changed the my apple-id about a week ago and installed IOS 7

Hi Henriettefromch. I have the same problem in that I do not have the old password for the old id and therefore it will not allow me to delete the account. Does ANYONE know how to do this. I can see me going the Samsung route at this stage and dumping my Apple Mac!!!!!!!!

therefore you will not be able to use the iPhone.

You can reset the password here -> https://iforgot.apple.com

Hi Chris. Thanks have tried this but the e-mail has been sent to the e-mail adress that belongs to the original id and as I cannot access it I cannot retrieve the e-mail. Long story short the original apple id is a hotmail address that was hacked and had passwords changed etc. @hotmail have not helped therefore the change of apple id to a new address. Can I reset my iphone completely so that it has no history i.e. as if I bought it brand new or sold it to someoen else without the history? I realise that I will lose all info on the phone but to reload that is a lot better than getting a new phone.

Me too!  I am so frustrated!  I was just on the phone with tech support and they disconnected me.  Now they want me to pay $19 to talk to someone.

Answer the security questions instead of sending an email.

This did not work for me on Apple IPhone 5 because when I tried to cancel the ICloud account it asked for the password to the old account name.

Chris, Seriously?? Do you not read the posts? We can not sign out or delete the old apple id account because we no longer have the password associated with that account. If we could answer the questions, or had access to the old email account, we would not be on here asking for help. So please stop referring us to something that keeps asking for what we don't have.
