All my old iphone 4S 'notes' are stored in icloud. When I synced up my new iphone 5 it did not transfer the last ten months of notes onto the phone, just everything prior to that. So I'm nervous if I back up the notes I've made since, it may overwrite what is already on icloud. Can anyone give me advice on how to transfer the rest of my notes from icloud onto my iphone 5, or how to get them all together again?

Yes they're all there on icloud. Big chunk missing on the phone.
I'm nervous about it as I lost a tonne of notes during an iOS upgrade a year ago. Any thoughts?
If you are signed into the iCloud account you should be able to go to Settings>iCloud, turn Notes to Off (which will temporarily remove the notes from your phone but they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so turn Notes back to On. Then notes currently on icloud.com should then appear in the Notes app on your phone.

If you currently have notes on your phone, open the Notes app and tap Accounts. Are the notes on your phone that are not in iCloud in the On My iPhone account?
Open the notes App on my phone or in icloud? Or in itunes? I tried on phone and in icloud, can't see where to tap Accounts on these...?
hey I think it's fixed-- I went into settings on the phone and icloud account and realised NOTES was switched off! Sheesh. Sorry about that. I think that has worked! Thanks heaps for your help!
On your phone. If you have Notes turned to On in Settings>iCloud, and also had notes on the phone prior to turning on this setting, you should have two accounts in the notes app: On My iPhone and iCloud (listed as your iCloud ID).
Did you have notes on your phone prior to turn on Notes in Settings>iCloud? Is Notes turned to On in Settings>iCloud now?
OK. If you see the Accounts setting in the Notes app on your phone on the top left, and if you have any notes in the On My iPhone account, the only way to get these additional notes in iCloud is to copy and paste the text of each note into a new note created in the iCloud account.
Still don't have the last few days of notes from the iphone on the icloud-- does it refresh automatically or should I do as you said and turn off notes on icloud then back on?

You're welcome. Once you have them all in iCloud, you can delete the duplicates in the On My iPhone account.
So in future, all the notes I write in the 'All Notes' section of Accounts will also backup on the icloud right? As opposed to if I write them in the On my Iphone section...?
Go to Settings>Notes and tap Default Account. Here be sure this is set to your iCloud ID. After that, notes created in the All Notes account will be created in iCloud. You can test this by creating a new note, then checking on icloud.com to confirm it's there.
