Hi Guys,
One of my favourite handy features/functions in Aperture 2.x was when selecting photos to put in an album/folder the inspector would automatically switch from the adjustment tab to the library tab.
Is there a way to restore this function?

If I understand what you are looking for it works that way for me.
The Adjustments tab is open, I select a few images from the browser and do New Album. When the new Aplbum is created I am in that album with the Library tab selected.
How are you creating the Album?
It works properly if creating a new album... But if I already have an album or book and I'm adding to it then it doesn't work like it used to.
The current way of selecting my photos, then selecting the correct tab, then grabbing my photos again to drag them into the album is much less efficient than:
Selecting the photos and dragging them to the album....
When I select images in the browser and begin the drag, when the pointer crosses over into the Adjustment tab the Inspector switches to the Library tab.

When you do this, are you using the inspector panel or the inspector HUD? The behavior you describe is what happens if dragging to the HUD. If dragging to the panel, then I observe what Frank stated.
Well now that IS interesting.... I only get the behaviour I described. In boththe HUD or the panel.
Hmmm, any suggestions on how to fix this?
I very rarely use the Fullscreen option, so the HUD is not too useful to me. (I have dual screens)

There's a way to get around the sequence you describe:
Select the photos in the browser, then hit the Q key (the shortcut to the "project pane" as they call it). Saves mousing around.
However, you should probably figure out what's really going on. Trashing preferences is one of the frequently recommended steps to take for this type of problem. Have you tried that?

That;s not needed dragging a selection into the Inspector will switch to the Library tab.

Yes, I know. The switch happens for me, and you, but apparantly not for the OP. I was just giving him an alternate way to get there.
Then trash the preferences file. That is the first step with UI problems.

This is strange.
Two other things to try, one create a new empty library, import a few images into it and try the drag. Unlikely to be library related but we might as well rule it out.
Second assuming the above still fails create a new user on your system , log in as that user, run Aperture. As a new user you should get an empty library if not create a new library. In either case import a few images into to and try the drag.

Yep. That's what I used to see. But not anymore.
I'll give your suggestions a try making a new user etc.
