Genius Database

I've been looking around for why Genius might not be working for a lot of my songs and I've come across the adage that songs after about 2010/2011 aren't in the Genius database or looked up in its algorithms.

I've had a lot of songs that used to be compatible with Genius but once I updated Genius (through update, turning Genius on and off, repeating multiple times), they no longer work in Genius. Why might that be?

Is there any word on updates to the algorithm and database to actually include more recent songs?
