Serial number issue after hard drive crash

I purchased Aperture many years ago and upgraded to Aperture 3 in 2009. Recently my hard disc crashed and it was replaced. When I tried to open Aperture I needed the original serial number. I have the serial for the Aperture 3 upgrade but not the original Aperture. Any good options at this point??? Thanks for your help!!!!
