eeveeayen,
Have you installed anything else that uses the CoreAudio systems in the background...
Something like Soundflower, Boom, Noiseblossom, Wiretap, Linein, Audio Hijack, Jack or anything else audio related that runs in the background and is used to change the routing of your audio... If so, quit it or uninstall it and test again...
if that doesn't help.. quit any background apps.. so that just LPX is running and nothing else (apart from Finder of course) and test. Also make sure nothing is running on startup like Anti Virus software...
The fact you get this issue using just one software instrument, your CPU isn't showing any spikes and you have plenty of onboard RAM makes me think it is something else unrelated to Logic Pro, that is running in the background, causing this issue as normally, that wouldn't happen....even when using the internal Audio hardware..It is not a common problem based on what you have described as happening and what you are doing. If you were using lots of tracks, plugins etc.. then that could be the cause.. but a single SI plugin, no.
One last question.. When you said it even happens when you use just one software instrument, which software instrument? One that came with Logic or a 3rd party one? Any FX plugins beiung used at the same time? Againif so, which one(s)
