Q: macbook pro takes charge intermittently.

My macbook pro 13(late 2011s) takes charge intermittently.

Takes charge for about 30 seconds ,then stops for 5-6 seconds and start charging again for 30 seconds.

Check the connections on both the power adapter and the MBP.  See that they are clean and the pins in the power adapter which are spring loaded are functioning properly.

    Also perform a SMC reset.

I have the same problem with intermittent charging.  It seems if I let the charger "rest" for a while, it will start working again.  I unplug it from the wall and the computer.  An hour or so later it will work again.

What is the explanation?  The connections check out, are clean and the pins in the power adapter are functioning properly. (spring loaded).

Does anyone know if the smc reset fixes the issue?
