Has anyone experienced a thunderbolt display going blank periodically? The ports and speakers continue to work. I have not been able to replicate any situation that causes it, it seems pretty random.

I too have this problem. Unplugging the display cable from my mac mini and replugging it in will restore the display. I wonder if this is due to the thunderbolt display cable going bad. Is this cable replaceable?
The firmware version of my display is 23.4.
