    Thank so very much!!!! I've had this issue for about a month, read a huge number of forums providing "solutions" that didn't work for me. Finally, relief !!!!!

    My only question is if changing the path from my previous entry to the solution you provided will cause an issue with another program. If so, will Environmental Variables allow two "path" entries; thus allowing me to add the previous path entry? The preivous path entry directed my intel Wi-Fi bin to a "wireless common" folder.

    I am not the expert on these things, but the original instructions said to ADD the new envronment variable to end of the existing string, not to replace the existing variables.  You can have multiple variable instructions, separated, I believe, by a semicolon

    Hopefully if you deleted the exisitng variables, you either remember what to restore there or they weren't important.

    Drinkcab, thanks for the response. I did store the previous "path" information. I went back to the Environmental Variable and added the previous "path" by selecting "new"; however, after doing this it eliminated the Apple "path" to fix the iTunes issue. So, it appears only one "path" can exist. Fortunately, nothing else has gone wrong; as a result of the replacement of the  prior "path". BTW this is on a Windows 7 64 bit, with intel graphics.

    In Windows, there's only one system path variable.  That variable (PATH) can, however, include many paths, each separated by a semicolon.  There is a limit to the length of the PATH system variable, but it's quite large.

    If you want to see the path, open a Command Prompt window (on Windows 7, type cmd.exe in the Search box and press Enter; on Windows XP, click Start, then click Run, then type

        cmd.exe

    in the "Open" box and click OK).

    In the black Command Prompt window type

        path

    and press Enter

    Here, for example, is a PATH variable from a Windows 7 Pro x64 computer (normally, it's just a single long string; I started each separate path on a new line for readability)  (note the newly-added last line where I didn't use capitalization -- but that's OK):

    PATH=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Java\lib;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client\;

    C:\Program Files\Intel\iCLS Client\;

    C:\Windows\system32;

    C:\Windows;

    C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;

    C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;

    C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;

    Excellent! Easy to follow and implement. Restart iTunes and all is well. Applecare says it's an MS problem, but this fixed it. I gave them the link to pass on to other users. Thanks again!!!

    Top Post!

    Easy to follow and works without having to disable anything.

    The iTunes install should do this itself.

    You are awesome!  Why do you think that was necessary?
