I just purchased a 2nd generation ipod for my husband. Looking to update the version to download some games Haven't attempted music yet.. This is on version 2.2 (5G77a). Really need step by step help on this. Thanks so much!

If your iPod does not have volume buttons on the upper left edge it is a 1G
