Q: Black screen in Apple TV playback

When playing TV shows recently, the screen goes, black for a second or so. The video is still streaming because it has advanced after the picture and sound come back. At times it will not happen at all, and other times it is really bad. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, did you find a solution?

Try a new better HDMI cable. That seems to have worked for me.

No luck with any of the info here. I may try connecting to my Airport express that I am using as a network extension and see if that helps.

Thanks for the input.
I did try another cable and another hemisphere port even. No luck though.

No I have it running 720p with no issues. For most content that is fine. But I would like to go back to 1080.

I was lucky. I am at 1080, and the new cable did the trick. It was really getting annoying having it cut out. Location can be a problem if there is a lot of potential interference. I did get a fairly expensice cable.

A new HDMI cable did the trick! The original one was a very expensive one but apparently faulty, the Amazon Basics one I switched to solved the problem entirely
