How do I get my apps back after uninstall of Mtn Lion?

After I uninstalled Mtn Lion my Migration asst won't recover certain applications from Time Mach backup.

Says apps on Time Mach drive are 'newer' unreadable versions. How do I recover?

Apparently I should not have let the Lion anywhere near my white iMac. Whoops!

White iMac / OS 10.6.8 / Gdrive external for Time Mach backup

iMac (20-inch Late 2006), Mac OS X (10.6.8), External Gdrive for TimeMach backup

You will have to obtain earlier, compatible, versions of the applications either from an older part of the Time Machine backup or from the original sources.
