Can't Open MS Office / Word / Excel 2011

Can't open applications from MS Office 2011(specifically Word and Excel) in my Snow Leopard partition 😟

I recieve the following message when opening the

"The Office for Mac Installation did not

complete successfully because there was

a problem with the installer.

To fix the issue please reinstall Office for Mac."

Could there be something other than reinstall being the solution? I tried that unsuccessfully. I am curious as to wether or not its loading up Word from my Lion partition and thats whats making it fail to open?

To prove whether or not that is the problem, compress/archive the application you think is interfering with it, using the control-mouse click and remove the instance of the application.

Make sure everything meets system requirements.

Thanks Brody,

Can you please explain in more detail how to compress / archive an application in Lion. As I attempted it and I don't think it worked. I realise you have been over this briefly in the previous message.

I checked the system requirements which, both of OS partitions(Lion HD & Snow Leopard HD) meet all Word 2011 requirements.
