Apple TV and Airport Express

Hello! I have an Apple TV 2. Generation, which i use to stream music to my flatscreen, from my itunes library on my Windows 7 computer. I recently bouth an Airport Express to work as wireless router, and it works brilliantly! But i after i've setup my Airport Express, my Apple TV wont connect to my computer. If i try entering "computers" It keeps saying "turn on sharing at home" but it is already turned on... Tried disabling og then turning it back on, without any difference. Sometimes when i nerkle around long enough with the settings on my airport utility, it works for a brief time, but then looses the connection again. Firewall on my computer is turned off for the time being. Could it be some sort of firewall on my Airport Express which is bugging??

Hey nicolajsen,

Thanks for the question. It sounds like a very frustrating situation, but I am confident we can get this working again. The following article provides the most relevant steps for troubleshooting Home Sharing:

A quick simple troubleshooting step will be to power off both your AirPort Express and cable modem for 30 seconds - 1 minute.

If the above steps do not resolve your issue, we'll need to dig deeper into the settings of your new AirPort Express:

Thanks,

Hello again - An sorry for the late answer, been messing around trying to get it working.

The last time it worked for almost a week, and the suddenly one day it stopped working again.

Just tried killing all power to modem, airport express and everything else, no luck.

But when i switched the power back on, my computer said that there is an IP conflict, another computer on the network uses same IP adress. My airport express has the IP 10.0.0.1 and the Apple TV has 10.0.0.3 so i cant see what is creating the problem... I have setup my Airport Express to run opendns (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) which i also used before installing my Airport Express. Tried pressing renew DHCP and now the Apple TV (system info in cbmc) says the IP address is 10.0.1.7 (gateway 10.0.1.1 DNS server 10.0.1.1) But still no luck.

Problem is, when i finally succeed in making it working (for a couple of hours or days) i dont know what made it work - Soooo frustrating!

Still cant figure out why it keeps saying "activate home sharing on your computer" when it is already turned on (of course with the same Apple ID).

Tried running through the trouble shooting guide you provided. Noticed that if i press settings in itunes, i choose share my library on the network and share the whole library. Below it says: Status: On, no connected users.

Been reading the troubleshoots up and down, still cant figure it out :-(
