Q: New iMac (Mountain Lion) internet sharing turns itself off

My mom got a new iMac this weekend.  She had been using an old airport express for her home networking, but it had been acting flaky lately, so we decided to plug the ethernet cable right into the computer and to turn on Internet Sharing for her iPad and Apple TV's. I works except for 1 issue.

2 days in a row now, in the morning, her network is missing.  Her Airport logo in the menu bar doesn't have the arrow to indicate sharing.  I go into System Preferences and Sharing, and it is on.  Turning it off, and back on brings back the arrow indicator, and the network.  But, obviously, I don't want my mom to have to do that daily.

I have the iMac set so the screen goes to sleep, but so the computer never does.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Might try this..

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

on the iMac, Ethernet at top, Wifi underneath.
