Aug 21, 2013 9:05 AM in response to vicinvestigatorby kohanmike,Please add what camera you used, the format of the recording, if it's in sync when you view the original footage in the camera, what settings you used when importing to FCPX. The more information, the easier it will be to troubleshoot.

Aug 22, 2013 6:42 AM in response to kohanmikeby vicinvestigator,Sony Handycam DCR-HC20-NTSC I checked the original footage saw no problem I used the default settings in FC. I tried using imovie it shut down in the middle of the tape. I record and digitize and edit video depositions. Been doing it for years with PC and adobe premeire. Decided to go with MAC to speed up. Record hours of pepole talking. Video quality not very important audio quality very inportant.

Aug 22, 2013 9:00 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby vicinvestigator,I guess I don't know how to answer that question it is mini DV tape playing off a sony DCR-HC20 camcorder Connected by fire wire. Recording on to FC through media import. I have not figured out how change input settings.

Aug 22, 2013 9:08 AM in response to vicinvestigatorby Tom Wolsky,You can't change the input settings. This is a DV camera right? It can record audio in48k or 32k, sometimes called 16-bit and 12-bit. If you recorded 32k, FCP won't handle the audio timing correctly.
