Just purchased Final Cut Pro 4 but it wont load on to my Mac Lion 10.7.5. Is there a fix for this, or do I need to change the sotware back to Snow Leopard?

FCP 4 will not work on the Lion OS. The highest is Snow Leopard 10.6.8. FCP 4 is a PowerPC based software which requires an OS that works with it. The last one was Snow Leopard. Lion OS forward doesn't work with those.

I have exchanged the software, and now have FCS 2, which again won't load as it says that my operating system doesn't have "Power PC". I assume this is the same problem i had previously. If I change Lion OS for Snow Leopard, will it work? If so, what problems would the change cause to other programs?

If you want to run Final Cut Pro on an Intel Mac, you want Final Cut Studio 2009 (aka Final Cut Studio 3).
It contains Final Cut Pro 7 and the rest of the suite.
You will want the Full (not upgrade) version.
